Nagpur: The Ministry of Ayush will host the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations in Nagpur on Wednesday, September 23, with the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”. Events will also be held across India and internationally, bringing together Ayurveda practitioners, institutions and other stakeholders.

The national programme will feature the launch of the first-ever report on the Ayush Services Sector, prepared by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS). The report will provide an assessment of the country’s Ayush services sector.

Safety dossiers and treatment guidelines

The event will also see the release of safety dossiers on Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Chandrasura (Lepidium sativum), along with Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) covering skin disorders.

Other reports and initiatives aimed at strengthening evidence-based research, innovation and community wellbeing in Ayurveda are also scheduled to be launched.

These include the report “From Traditional Wisdom to Global Leadership: Ayush Vision 2030”, a status report on Ayush-related inventions in India and the CCRAS–AGNI Assessment Scale Web Portal.

Two scientific sessions will be held during the celebrations.

The first, titled “Shashwatam to Vishwas – Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow and the Road to 2047”, will examine Ayurveda’s future development and its role in the long-term health agenda.

The second session, “Integrating Therapies is needed to reduce NCD Burden by 2027”, will focus on the role of integrated approaches in addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush, representatives of various councils and institutions, and stakeholders from across the Ayurveda ecosystem are expected to attend the programme.

The ministry said the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations will emphasise evidence, research and innovation as key components in strengthening Ayurveda and promoting community wellbeing.

The nationwide and global observance is aimed at expanding engagement with Ayurveda while highlighting its role in the theme of a healthier tomorrow.
