Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have arrested a youth from Bihar for allegedly creating and circulating an AI-generated video on social media depicting an explosion at Karnataka’s Vidhana Soudha.

According to police, the accused used photographs taken in front of the iconic building and digitally manipulated them using artificial intelligence to create a reel showing an explosion. The video subsequently went viral on social media, prompting the police to investigate the matter in view of the security implications.

A case has been registered at the Vidhana Soudha police station, and an investigation is underway. The accused was reportedly working at a pipe shop on J.C. Road in Bengaluru before his arrest.

Police are questioning him to establish why he created and circulated the video. Investigators are examining whether the act stemmed from a lack of awareness about its seriousness or whether there was any deliberate malicious intent behind it.
