New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday said the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was only a partial victory and announced that it would continue its agitation until the Centre addressed its remaining demands linked to the NEET-UG 2026 controversy.

Addressing supporters at Jantar Mantar, CJP president Abhijit Deepke described Pradhan’s resignation as a “victory of student power” and said the protests had demonstrated that peaceful public movements could hold the government accountable.

“We have achieved it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. This struggle has shown that if the government does not bow down, you can get a resignation from anyone,” Deepke said.

Deepke, however, maintained that the minister’s resignation alone was not sufficient. He demanded ₹1 crore as compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide in connection with the NEET controversy and called for strict action against police personnel accused of misbehaving with protesting students during demonstrations on July 20.

The CJP leader also urged the government to withdraw all cases registered against students following the July 20 protests.

According to the party, while its initial demand for the Education Minister’s resignation has been met, the agitation will continue until the Centre responds to its remaining demands.
