New Delhi: Union Minister of State for MSME and Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking a CBI investigation into alleged large-scale irregularities in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment of Veterinary Officers.
In a letter dated August 2, Karandlaje alleged corruption, abuse of authority, manipulation of the recruitment process and criminal conspiracy, warning that such irregularities could undermine public trust in government recruitment.
She said the allegations pointed to possible payment of illegal gratification and manipulation of the selection process, adding that lakhs of deserving candidates were entitled to a transparent and merit-based recruitment system. The minister also stressed that the integrity of KPSC was crucial to ensuring equality in public employment under Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution.
Seeking an independent probe, Karandlaje urged the Centre to entrust the investigation to the CBI to identify those responsible, trace the alleged flow of illegal money and fix accountability.
In a post on X, she said, “Merit must never be sacrificed. The hard work, commitment and sacrifices of our youth and their families must never become victims of corruption.” She added that those responsible must be held accountable and public confidence in the recruitment system restored.
