Actor Chethan Ahimsa Files Complaint Against Producer S.R. Govindu Over Threat Allegation
Bengaluru: Kannada actor and activist Chethan Ahimsa has lodged a police complaint against film producer and former president of the Rajkumar Fans Association, S.R. Govindu, accusing him of verbal abuse and issuing threats.
The dispute reportedly stems from remarks made by Chethan regarding land allotment linked to Kannada icon Dr. Rajkumar. The comments sparked controversy, following which Govindu is alleged to have confronted Chethan near his residence.
Despite issuing an apology over his earlier statement, Chethan proceeded with legal action, filing a complaint at the Seshadripuram Police Station along with members of several pro-people organisations.
Detailing the incident, Chethan said, “When we went to his house on April 25, he abused us and threatened us with offensive language.”
He further alleged that Govindu has been involved in controversies in the past, including an incident of barging into a media office. “The name of Dr. Rajkumar is being misused. He does not deserve to be called a fan,” Chethan remarked.
According to Chethan, police personnel and media representatives were present at the time of the incident. He also claimed that there is a growing attempt to intimidate individuals who raise concerns about the welfare of the film industry.
