CHITRADURGA: Davangere Congress MLA Samarth Shamanur escaped unhurt after the car he was travelling in met with an accident near K R Halli Gate in Hiriyur taluk.
The incident occurred when an Innova car driven by Sandeep (45), from Sandur, reportedly rammed into a road divider on the national highway near K R Halli and overturned. Shamanur’s car, which was travelling behind, then collided with the overturned vehicle.
Sandeep sustained injuries in the accident and was rushed to Hiriyur hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment.
Shamanur escaped without injuries and continued his journey to Davangere in another vehicle following the accident.
A case has been registered at the Hiriyur Rural police station, and an investigation is underway.
