‘Crazy Star’ Ravichandran set for political debut? Actor likely to enter Karnataka Legislative Council

Bengaluru: Veteran Kannada actor, director and producer ‘Crazy Star’ V Ravichandran could be set for a political debut, with the Congress government reportedly considering his nomination to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the cultural sector.

Sources said the Congress high command has given the go-ahead to consider Ravichandran’s name for a Council seat, with his contribution to the Kannada film industry being cited as a key factor.

The development has also triggered speculation about the actor’s entry into politics, particularly after Ravichandran recently met Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who is his childhood friend and classmate.

Ravichandran has been associated with the Kannada film industry for more than four decades, working across acting, direction and film production. He has been a prominent figure in Kannada cinema through his long career.

According to sources, the government is considering his nomination to the Legislative Council under the cultural and artistic field quota, in recognition of his contribution to the arts.

If the nomination goes through, it would mark a new chapter in the veteran actor’s career, taking him from the Kannada film industry into active public life.
