New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a comfortable 8-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After winning the toss, Delhi skipper Axar Patel opted to bat first, but the decision didn’t pay off as the top order collapsed early. KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka and Nitish Rana failed to provide a solid start.
In the middle order, Tristan Stubbs (38) and Sameer Rizvi (40) attempted to stabilize the innings, helping Delhi post 155/7 in their 20 overs.
Chasing a modest target, CSK made light work of the total. Sanju Samson and Karthik Sharma led the charge with impressive batting performances, guiding the team to 159 in just 17.3 overs.
With this win, Chennai Super Kings climbed to sixth place on the points table with 10 points, boosting their playoff hopes.
