Kottayam: The National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam, organised a national seminar on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in clinical practice and Homoeopathy, bringing together researchers, doctors, academicians and students to examine the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging technology.
The seminar, organised under the theme “Where Intelligence Meets Compassion”, was conducted by NHRIMH under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of Ayush.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav addressed the programme virtually and highlighted the growing role of AI in healthcare. He stressed the need for informed discussions on its responsible application in Homoeopathy.
CCRH Director General Dr Subhash Kaushik said researchers and academicians must understand both the capabilities and ethical implications of AI before adopting it in healthcare and research.
Experts emphasised that AI-based healthcare applications should be backed by human oversight, scientific validation, credible data and appropriate ethical safeguards.
The technical sessions examined AI-enabled clinical decision support, applications of AI in Homoeopathy, personalised care and ethical considerations in clinical and fundamental research.
The seminar also saw the signing of nine MoUs with Homoeopathic medical colleges and hospitals to strengthen academic collaboration in psychiatry and mental health.
Another MoU was signed with Sevabharathi, Ettumanoor, for interdisciplinary research and institutional collaboration.
According to NHRIMH Officer-in-Charge Dr Debadatta Nayak, representatives from around 12 Homoeopathic medical colleges across India, along with practitioners and faculty members from Kerala, participated in the event.
The discussions are expected to strengthen academic and research networks while encouraging responsible adoption of AI in Homoeopathic research and clinical practice.
The initiative, officials said, reflects CCRH and NHRIMH’s focus on scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and ethical use of emerging technologies in healthcare.
