US military to screen men over 30 for testosterone deficiency; Trump eases hunting, fishing curbs

Washington: The US military has issued new guidelines to screen male service members over 30 for testosterone deficiency, while President Donald Trump has signed executive orders expanding hunting and fishing opportunities on federal lands.

According to the Defense Health Agency, blood tests will be conducted when symptoms or risk factors indicate possible testosterone deficiency. Confirmation requires tests on two separate mornings. Symptoms include reduced sexual interest, low energy, poor concentration and loss of muscle mass.

Treatment will be limited to personnel with confirmed deficiency, with the guidelines not supporting testosterone use for performance enhancement.

Separately, Trump has signed two executive orders aimed at expanding hunting and fishing opportunities on federal lands and protecting the use of traditional lead ammunition.

Another order relaxes certain federal restrictions affecting saltwater anglers, boaters and coastal communities. Trump has also announced plans to extend fishing seasons and quotas.

The administration has not yet provided details on how much federal land will be opened for hunting or which fishing zones will be affected by the new measures. Implementation details are expected to be worked out by the relevant federal agencies.
