Nagoya: India’s Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon won a historic bronze medal in the women’s team skeet event at the Asian Games on Wednesday, securing India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in the women’s team skeet discipline.
After three days of qualification rounds, the Indian trio finished with a combined score of 331, placing third behind China, which won gold with 357, and Kazakhstan, which took silver with 336.
The team medal came despite individual podium finishes eluding the Indian shooters, with two of the three Indian finalists finishing fourth in their respective individual events.
The bronze adds to India’s medal tally in shooting at the Nagoya Asian Games and marks another milestone for the country’s women shooters.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Dhaliwal, Chauhan and Dhillon on their bronze-medal performance.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office said their “focus, precision, and teamwork” had brought another proud moment for Indian sport.
Modi also extended his best wishes to the three shooters for their upcoming competitions and endeavours.
