Bengaluru: Entrepreneur and social contributor Dr Govinda Babu Poojari was honoured with the ‘Karnataka Sarvabhouma Award–2026’ at a ceremony organised by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike near Konanakunte Cross in Bengaluru.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar presented the award to Dr Poojari in recognition of his contributions to employment generation, education and social initiatives. The event was organised as part of a felicitation programme for the Chief Minister.
Minister N. Chaluvarayaswamy, along with seers, intellectuals and prominent personalities from different fields, attended the programme.
Recognition for Employment and Education Initiatives
Dr Poojari was recognised for establishing Cheftalk, a food-sector enterprise that has provided employment opportunities to more than 10,000 people.
His contribution to education was also highlighted. He adopted a government school in Byndoor, Udupi district, and supported its development by improving infrastructure and educational facilities.
The organisers said the award recognised his efforts in promoting employment as well as his involvement in education and community-oriented initiatives.
Several Personalities Honoured
The programme also saw several achievers from different fields being felicitated with the Karnataka Sarvabhouma Award.
Among those honoured were actor Doddanna, Minister U.T. Khader, singer Kasturi Shankar, agriculture achiever Kavita Mishra, educationists Rashmi Kiran and Bharati Paramesh, Naveen Kumar, Lalbagh Director Jagadish, writer Padmini Nagaraju, social workers Babu and Mangala Ketti, and entrepreneurs Mallanna, Dayananda Sangappa Pattanashetti and Deepugowda.
Several seers, public representatives, thinkers and other dignitaries were present at the event.
