New Delhi: Two commemorative postage stamps celebrating 20 years of BRICS cooperation were released on Saturday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Carrying the inscription “BRICS: Two Decades of Cooperation, 2006–2026” and its Hindi version, the stamps mark the evolution of the grouping as an important platform for dialogue, cooperation and coordination among emerging economies.
The commemorative stamps also reflect the priorities of India’s BRICS Chairship 2026, centred on the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
The first stamp represents the emergence and evolution of BRICS as a platform built on mutual respect, understanding and solidarity among its members.
The second stamp features the BRICS logo and reflects India’s emphasis on a “humanity first” and “people-centric” vision during its chairship.
The release comes as BRICS marks two decades since its formation in 2006. Over the years, the grouping has evolved into a platform for cooperation across areas including economic development, trade, finance, technology and global governance.
The commemorative stamps seek to capture both the journey of BRICS over the past 20 years and India’s priorities for its 2026 chairship, highlighting resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability as key pillars of the grouping’s future engagement.
