Chennai: Director Ramachandran Kannan’s upcoming Tamil romantic film ‘Ram and Leela’ has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, starring Rio Raj and Varthika in the lead roles, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 21.
Production house Trident Arts announced the certification through social media. The film was earlier titled ‘Ram in Leela’, but the title has now been changed to ‘Ram and Leela’.
Expectations are high following Rio Raj’s recent films ‘Joe’ and ‘Aan Paavam Polladdadu’. Actress Varthika will make her Tamil cinema debut with the film.
The story has been written by Ramachandran Kannan and Akash Pujith. Mallick Arjun is the cinematographer, while Ankit Menon has composed the music. G. Durairaj has handled the art direction and YNC Shiva the editing.
The film is produced by R. Ravindran and Sudarshan under the banners of Trident Arts and EYWA Entertainments, with Sanjay Vijayaraghavan serving as creative producer.
