Former minister B.C. Nagesh no more; leaders condole death
Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Education Minister B.C. Nagesh died on Tuesday night at the age of 67 following a prolonged illness.
Nagesh had been undergoing treatment at his daughter’s residence in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. Family sources said his health had deteriorated in recent days.
Nagesh was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly twice from Tiptur on a BJP ticket. He served as School Education and Literacy Minister and also held the Health portfolio in the Basavaraj Bommai-led government from 2021 to 2023.
He had reportedly been undergoing treatment for several health complications, including a brain tumour.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, BJP leader and Legislative Council member C.T. Ravi and several other leaders condoled his death.
Joshi remembered Nagesh for his simplicity, honesty and organisational abilities, while highlighting his contribution to reforms in the education sector.
C.T. Ravi said Nagesh earned public affection through his simple and selfless approach and described his contribution to education reforms and the development of Tiptur constituency as memorable.
Shivakumar expressed his condolences and prayed for strength for Nagesh’s family, friends and supporters to overcome the loss.
