Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved industrial projects worth over ₹2,999 crore under various incentive schemes, with the investments expected to generate more than 6,100 direct jobs across the state.

The approvals were granted during high-level committee meetings chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

Under the Industrial Policy-2015, 32 large industrial projects involving investments of ₹1,978.04 crore were cleared, creating an estimated 4,739 direct jobs. The projects span sectors including automobiles, metals, ceramics, chemicals, plastics, textiles and pharmaceuticals across districts such as Ahmedabad, Morbi, Kutch, Mehsana, Vadodara and Surat.

A ₹649.23 crore project was also approved under the Capital Subsidy Scheme for Large Industries and Thrust Sectors, with the potential to create 871 jobs.

In the textile sector, three projects worth ₹165 crore were cleared under the Textile Value Chain-2019 scheme, generating around 500 jobs. The units will receive more than ₹50 crore in government assistance over five years.

Additionally, four industrial park projects involving investments of over ₹371.70 crore were approved under the Gujarat Industrial Policy-2020 to strengthen industrial infrastructure.

The state government said the projects would boost manufacturing, attract investment and further strengthen Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem.
