Heavy rain forecast in 13 Karnataka districts, including Bengaluru; strong winds likely
Bengaluru: Karnataka is likely to witness continued rainy and windy conditions over the next few days, with the Meteorological Department forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several parts of the state.
A yellow alert has been issued for 13 districts — Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bagalkote, Bidar, Koppal, Vijayapura, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Kolar, Shivamogga and Tumakuru.
Winds are expected to reach 30–50 kmph in several areas, prompting authorities to advise residents and farmers to take precautions.
Isolated areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are likely to receive heavy rain accompanied by winds of 40–50 kmph. Uttara Kannada is expected to receive moderate to good rainfall in several areas.

In north interior Karnataka, heavy rain with gusty winds of 30–40 kmph is forecast in parts of Bagalkote, Koppal, Vijayapura and Bidar. Moderate rainfall is likely across several parts of Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Raichur and Yadgir.
Heavy rain with winds of 40–50 kmph is forecast in isolated areas of Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga.
Moderate rainfall is also likely in parts of Chitradurga, Ballari, Hassan, Ramanagara, Chamarajanagar, Davanagere, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru and Vijayanagara.
