New Delhi: The Lalit Kala Akademi has announced 20 award winners at the 65th National Exhibition of Art (NEA), one of India’s major annual showcases of contemporary visual art.
The exhibition received 6,175 artworks from 2,495 artists representing 27 states and Union Territories. Following a two-stage selection process, the first-tier jury shortlisted 270 works for display, while the second-tier jury selected 20 artworks by 20 artists for the Lalit Kala Akademi Awards.
The selected works span painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and mixed media, reflecting a wide range of contemporary artistic practices and techniques.

The Akademi said the exhibition provides artists with a national platform to present their creative practices while allowing audiences to engage with the changing landscape of contemporary Indian visual art.
