New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on October 1.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the gathering at 11am and release a commemorative coin and stamp marking the UPSC’s 100th anniversary. He will also release a book titled ‘100 Landmark Judgements – Shaping the Policies of UPSC and Public Service Commissions in India’.

The event will mark the culmination of year-long celebrations that began on October 1, 2025, commemorating a century since the establishment of the UPSC in 1926.

The programme will bring together stakeholders from across the country, including chairpersons and members of State Public Service Commissions, senior government officials, academicians and UPSC officials.

The celebrations are being held as part of a two-day UPSC programme on September 30 and October 1.

The first day features ‘Shatabdi Samaroh – Manthan’ at Bharat Mandapam, with addresses by eminent speakers followed by panel discussions on various themes related to public service and the functioning of public service commissions.

The centenary programme is aimed at marking the UPSC’s institutional journey and its role in the country’s public service recruitment system.
