Public sector banks, RRBs to remain open on Sunday, Sept 27
New Delhi: Public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will remain open and function normally on Sunday, September 27, ahead of a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.
The move is aimed at ensuring that customers do not face prolonged disruption to banking services due to the proposed strike coinciding with the preceding weekend holidays on September 26 and 27.

RBI approves Sunday operations
The Reserve Bank of India has approved the opening of all bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests on September 27.
The government said the arrangement would help ensure continued access to essential banking services and minimise inconvenience to customers.
Unions urged to defer strike
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called the proposed nationwide strike from September 28 to 30.
The government and bank managements have appealed to the unions to defer the strike and have taken measures to ensure that essential banking services remain uninterrupted.
The Department said the welfare and convenience of bank customers remained its priority.
