Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra on Monday urged the state government to ensure justice for candidates affected by the alleged irregularities in the police constable recruitment examination, demanding immediate alternative arrangements for eligible aspirants whose prospects were impacted by the confusion.

Referring to the alleged OMR sheet mix-up at examination centres in Vijayapura, Vijayendra said the incident and the ensuing protests by candidates reflected yet another administrative failure of the Congress government.

He said thousands of aspirants, particularly from rural, poor and middle-class families, had spent years preparing for the recruitment examination by investing their parents’ hard-earned money, only to see their future jeopardised due to alleged mismanagement during the examination process.

“The confusion over OMR sheets has pushed the future of deserving candidates into uncertainty. Such negligence at a crucial stage of the recruitment process highlights the government’s irresponsibility,” Vijayendra said.

In a post on X, the BJP leader questioned the government’s ability to conduct recruitment examinations in a transparent and efficient manner.

“Is the state government so incompetent that it cannot conduct even a single recruitment examination properly?” he asked, alleging that the Home Department and the state government had failed to prioritise the interests of job aspirants.

Vijayendra urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara to intervene immediately, initiate strict action against officials responsible for the alleged irregularities at the Vijayapura examination centre, and make alternative arrangements to ensure that every eligible candidate affected by the confusion receives justice.
