New Delhi: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Scotland First Minister John Swinney and held discussions on strengthening economic and trade relations between India and Scotland.

In a post on X, Goyal said the discussions focused on advancing the bilateral partnership within the framework of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), with the aim of expanding trade, investment and innovation.

The two leaders discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in key sectors, including higher education, renewable energy, semiconductors, data centres, science, space and tourism.

Goyal also highlighted the potential for stronger industry-to-industry partnerships and new avenues for bilateral investment, saying the discussions sought to build on shared priorities and broaden economic engagement between India and Scotland.
