Thunderstorms, Moderate Rain Likely Across Karnataka for Next Five Days: IMD
Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several parts of Karnataka over the next five days, despite a temporary weakening of the southwest monsoon.
According to the IMD, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts are likely to receive moderate rainfall. Strong winds of 30–40 kmph are also expected along the coast, prompting the department to advise fishermen and coastal residents to exercise caution.
The Malnad districts of Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Hassan are also expected to witness moderate rainfall with the possibility of thunderstorms.

Rain accompanied by gusty winds has also been forecast for Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Ballari, Vijayanagara, Davanagere, Chitradurga and Tumakuru districts.
Meanwhile, Dharwad, Haveri and Belagavi districts are likely to receive scattered rainfall, while Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Koppal and Gadag districts may experience thunderstorms.
The IMD has advised the public to remain alert during thunderstorms and take necessary precautions against strong winds and lightning.
