Haveri: Three people were killed and three others injured after a car crashed into a stationary lorry near Chalageri toll plaza in Ranebennur taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Siddhartha (27), Hasanmukhi (29) and Yashoda Bai (51), residents of Nitavalli Mauneshwar locality in Davanagere.
The injured have been identified as Soundarya (26), Sindhu (24) and one-year-old Kashvashri. They have been admitted to S.S. Hospital in Davanagere, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to preliminary information, the victims were travelling from Ranebennur towards Davanagere when their car rammed into a lorry that was parked on the roadside near the Chalageri toll plaza.
The impact left the occupants seriously injured, with three of them dying at the spot.
After receiving information, personnel from the Ranebennur Rural Police Station reached the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered and police are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
