Chamarajanagar: Three people were killed after a car allegedly rammed into their motorcycle near R.S. Doddi in Hanur taluk late at night, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Ramesh, Suresh and Muniyappa, all residents of Koppa village in Hanur taluk.
According to preliminary information, the three were travelling from Koppa towards Kollegala via R.S. Doddi on a motorcycle when a car approaching from behind allegedly collided with the bike.
The impact left all three riders with severe injuries. They died at the spot, according to the report.
Local residents said the car driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping after the crash.
After receiving information about the accident, personnel from Hanur police station reached the spot and conducted an inspection.
A case has been registered at Hanur police station. Investigators are examining the circumstances leading to the collision and efforts are underway to identify and trace the car and its driver.
