BJP Calls Delhi CJP Protest a ‘Flop Show’, Says Attempt to Create Unrest Failed
New Delhi: BJP leaders on Saturday criticised the opposition over the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and allegations of irregularities in electoral roll revision, describing the demonstration as an unsuccessful attempt to create unrest in the national capital.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said the attempt to create anarchy in Delhi had failed. Addressing a press conference, he argued that scenes from Jantar Mantar and their portrayal on social media did not reflect the situation across the country.
Patra said peace and governance continued in India and claimed that attempts to disrupt public order and hold the capital hostage had been unsuccessful.

‘Governance happens in Parliament’
BJP MP and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said India was not a “banana republic” and asserted that governance should be conducted through Parliament rather than the streets.
He said India would not bow to pressure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Citing the BJP-led NDA’s electoral performance in Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry, Prasad argued that the alliance had continued to perform electorally despite the protests in Delhi.
Goyal targets Rahul Gandhi
Union minister Piyush Goyal criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks concerning President Droupadi Murmu and an opposition delegation’s allegations of vote theft.
Goyal questioned Gandhi’s understanding of constitutional responsibilities and accused him of showing disrespect towards constitutional institutions.
