Bangkok: Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok on Wednesday morning to participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

She was received by Puneet Agrawal, India’s Ambassador to Thailand, and Ruecha Varatorn, deputy director general of the Treasury Department in Thailand’s Ministry of Finance.

During her visit, Sitharaman is scheduled to participate in meetings of G20 and G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG), besides holding bilateral discussions with representatives of several countries and international organisations.

The engagements are expected to provide a platform for discussions on global economic issues and international financial cooperation.

Sitharaman’s visit underscores India’s participation in multilateral economic forums and its engagement with international partners on financial and economic matters.
