RAICHUR: The BJP’s padyatra, which began in Lingasugur in Raichur district on September 1, is receiving strong public support across the state, BJP leader CT Ravi said.

Speaking to reporters, Ravi said the padyatra was sending out a positive message and was being used to highlight several issues concerning the state.

“People everywhere are supporting the BJP’s padyatra. The march is sending a positive message. We have raised several issues, including the alleged misuse of funds meant for SCs and STs. We are also working to create awareness among the public about corruption,” Ravi said.

He said the BJP had raised concerns over the alleged misuse of funds allocated for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Creating awareness about corruption and highlighting issues related to governance were also among the objectives of the padyatra, he added.

‘Look at the crowds’: Sriramulu

BJP leader B Sriramulu also appealed to people to support the party, saying the response to the padyatra demonstrated growing public backing.

“Look at the number of people participating in the padyatra. Everyone should support the BJP. We are raising several important issues through this march, and people are extending their support to us,” Sriramulu said.

The BJP’s padyatra is aimed at highlighting alleged corruption, the alleged misuse of SC/ST funds and other governance-related issues. The campaign is also expected to intensify the political contest between the BJP and the ruling Congress in Karnataka.
