New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday announced a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life and service.
The campaign will begin on Modi’s birthday on September 17 and continue until October 17, BJP national president Nitin Nabin said at a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
Modi to complete 25 years in public service
Nabin said Modi’s journey in public office began on October 7, 2001, when he took charge as the chief minister of Gujarat. He will complete 25 years of public service on October 7 this year.

The campaign will begin with a blood donation camp on September 17.
Later that evening, at 7pm, the BJP will organise the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ programme as part of the celebrations.
According to Nabin, the campaign is aimed at highlighting Modi’s 25-year public service journey and expressing gratitude through public participation.
BJP highlights India’s economic transformation
Nabin also credited Modi’s leadership with what he described as a significant transformation in India’s economic and global standing.
He claimed that when Modi became prime minister in 2014, the country was facing an atmosphere of “despair and policy paralysis” and India was counted among the ‘Fragile Five’ economies.
Nabin said India has since emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, while its stature and influence on the global stage have also increased.
The BJP president said the month-long campaign would provide an opportunity for party workers and the public to collectively recognise and celebrate Modi’s contribution to public life.
