Ahmedabad: Delhi Capitals scripted a sensational run chase to defeat Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring thriller during the 43rd match of Indian Premier League 2026.
Rajasthan, after opting to bat first, posted a massive total of 225 runs. Despite early setbacks with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi falling cheaply, a blistering 90 from Riyan Parag and a quickfire 47 by Donovan Ferreira powered them to a daunting score.
In response, Delhi came out aggressively and maintained control throughout the chase. KL Rahul led the charge with a composed 75, while Pathum Nissanka added 62. Contributions from Nitish Rana (33) and an unbeaten 25 by Ashutosh Sharma ensured Delhi crossed the line in 19.1 overs, losing just three wickets.
The victory marks one of the highest successful run chases in IPL history, underlining Delhi’s batting depth and composure under pressure.
With this win, Delhi Capitals move up to sixth place in the points table with their fourth victory of the season, while Rajasthan Royals remain in fourth position.
