FIR Against Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Leaders Over Protest at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders and workers following a complaint by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) over an alleged protest inside Bangla Sahib Gurdwara.
The DSGMC alleged that some AAP supporters entered the gurdwara premises and staged a politically motivated demonstration, disrupting the sanctity of the religious site. According to the complaint, political slogans were raised inside the premises, disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the place of worship.
The committee maintained that religious institutions should not be used for political activities and alleged that the incident amounted to a misuse of the sacred premises.

DSGMC submits video evidence
According to the complaint, gurdwara management representatives and sewadars intervened to maintain order and protect the sanctity of the premises.
The DSGMC said it had submitted video footage of the incident to the police and sought action against those allegedly involved. It also accused AAP leaders and supporters of circulating videos on social media that allegedly misrepresented the incident and portrayed the gurdwara management in a negative light.
Protest linked to CEC controversy
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday when protesters gathered at the gurdwara in connection with a demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, organised by the Cockroach Janata Party, according to the account provided.
The DSGMC alleged that AAP leaders and legislators later shared videos on social media that distorted the sequence of events. The committee claimed the alleged political mobilisation inside the religious premises was an attempt to use the sanctity of the Guru Ghar for political purposes.
Following the complaint, Delhi Police registered an FIR against the AAP leaders and others named in connection with the incident.
The allegations against the AAP leaders have not been established. Further details are awaited as the police investigation proceeds.
