Kiccha Sudeep to play Sri Krishnadevaraya in ‘Devaraya’

Bengaluru: Kiccha Sudeep is set to portray one of the most celebrated rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire, Sri Krishnadevaraya, in the upcoming pan-India historical film ‘Devaraya’.

The film was announced on the occasion of Sudeep’s birthday, along with several other projects, triggering considerable excitement among his fans.

Sharing details on social media, Sudeep said he was proud to be part of a project that explores the legacy of a legendary king and a significant period in history.

Sudeep will essay the imposing role of Sri Krishnadevaraya in the big-budget project, which is being produced by People Media Factory. The makers are currently working on preparations for the ambitious historical drama.

‘Devaraya’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in December 2027.

With its historical setting and Sudeep taking on the iconic role of Krishnadevaraya, the film is expected to be one of the actor’s most ambitious projects.
