According to police, the fire started on the second floor of a four-storey residential building around 4 am and rapidly spread to the upper floors, trapping occupants inside.
Fire officials rushed 14 fire tenders to the spot, and after a nearly two-hour-long operation, the blaze was brought under control. Rescue teams managed to evacuate more than 10 people from the building.
Several of the rescued sustained injuries, with at least seven currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, officials said.
