Bengaluru: The Karnataka BJP has said that former minister B. Nagendra’s resignation in connection with the alleged Valmiki Corporation irregularities is only the first step and that its fight will continue until justice is delivered to the Scheduled Tribe community.

In a post on X, the BJP claimed that its sustained campaign had resulted in its “first victory” with Nagendra’s resignation. However, the party said the issue would not end there.

BJP seeks return of ₹187 crore, restoration of ST reservation

The BJP demanded that the ₹187 crore allegedly misused from the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation be recovered and returned immediately.

The party also demanded the immediate restoration of the Scheduled Tribe reservation introduced during the previous BJP government.

“The struggle for the rights of the Scheduled Tribes will continue until justice is delivered to the community,” the BJP said.

The Valmiki Corporation case has triggered a major political confrontation in Karnataka, with the BJP continuing to target the Congress government over the alleged financial irregularities.
