‘Power to Empower’: PM Modi Highlights India’s Vision at Bloomberg Forum
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday outlined India’s vision of inclusive growth and global cooperation while addressing the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi, asserting that the country’s progress would create opportunities for other nations.
“The vision I have come with is power to empower,” Modi said, calling for a shift from control to enablement, competition to collaboration, and individual success to helping others succeed.
Highlighting India’s digital transformation, he said affordable internet, digital payments and Direct Benefit Transfer had expanded access to opportunities and improved the delivery of government assistance. He noted that India’s startup ecosystem had grown to more than 2.5 lakh startups, with nearly half based in smaller cities and over 45% having women in leadership roles.
Modi also emphasised India’s contribution to global development through generic medicines, digital infrastructure and initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance and the Global Biofuel Alliance.

“We do not grow at anyone’s cost. We grow with the world and for the world,” he said, stressing the need for reliable partnerships amid global conflicts and supply-chain disruptions.
On climate action, Modi said India’s renewable energy capacity had increased from 75 gigawatts in 2014 to approximately 300 gigawatts. He highlighted solar power schemes aimed at empowering households and farmers.
Citing a 7.8% growth rate for the April-June quarter and foreign exchange reserves exceeding $700 billion, the Prime Minister attributed India’s economic resilience to structural reforms, including GST and changes to labour laws.
“For us, reforms are not a compulsion. They are a conviction,” he said, urging countries to collaborate in addressing global challenges and creating shared opportunities.
