Raanbali teaser: Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna film takes on British-era oppression

Hyderabad: The teaser of the much-awaited historical action drama ‘Raanbali’, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into a story of resistance against British oppression.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film is set against the backdrop of the Madras Famine of 1876–1878 and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.

Titled ‘The Savage’s Oath’, the teaser showcases the brutality of British officers and the suffering of people who rose in rebellion against colonial rule.

The film explores the inhumane conditions faced by local communities during the British era, with the story focusing on their struggle for survival and resistance.

The teaser’s intense visuals and action sequences have already generated curiosity about the scale and narrative of the film.

Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for films including The Mummy, features as Sir Theodore Hector, a powerful and ruthless British officer.

Vijay Deverakonda appears in a rugged, intense look as Raanbali, portrayed as a son of the soil from Rayalaseema who becomes part of the resistance against colonial oppression.

The actor’s transformation and action-packed portrayal form one of the major highlights of the teaser.

Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, Raanbali’s wife. Her character is shown as an important part of the protagonist’s journey and struggle.

The film brings together Vijay and Rashmika once again, raising expectations among their fans.

The makers are planning a simultaneous release in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam on October 16. With its historical setting, intense action and a story rooted in resistance against British rule, Raanbali is shaping up as one of the major releases of the Dussehra season.
