MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has stepped forward to support victims of the devastating floods in Nepal, promising assistance to people affected by the disaster.
Taking to social media platform X, Sood said, “Nepal, you are not alone. We stand with you,” and assured flood-hit families of support with food, shelter and assistance for rebuilding.
Heavy flooding was reported across several districts of Nepal near the Tibet border, causing widespread damage to homes, bridges and hydropower projects.
According to reports cited in the initial accounts, more than 160 people have died and over 750 remain missing. Around 550 people were also reported missing in Tibet, according to Chinese media reports.
