Steel ministry to hold open house on import-related issues on Sept 24
New Delhi: The Ministry of Steel will hold an open house on September 24 to discuss issues faced by companies and industry associations in importing steel, particularly those related to SIMS, SARAL SIMS and Quality Control Order (QCO) exemptions.
The session will be held from 11am to 5pm at the Steel Room, third floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi. Companies and associations can present their concerns after obtaining a confirmed time slot.
Organisations seeking participation have been asked to send their requests by 2pm on September 21 to the ministry’s designated email address. The email should include the name of the company or association, type of industry and product, and details of whether the issue relates to SIMS, SARAL SIMS or QCO exemption.

Applicants should also provide the reference number of any relevant application, a brief description of the issue limited to 50 words, and the name, designation and contact details of the participating representative.
The ministry said walk-ins would not be permitted due to logistical constraints. Only one representative from each organisation will be allowed to participate to ensure wider industry representation.
Third-party representation will not be permitted, the ministry said. Specific time slots will be communicated to participants through email.
