New Delhi: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh on Tuesday visited social activist Sonam Wangchuk at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram to enquire about his health, amid escalating protests over the alleged NEET question paper leak.

The visit came as the NEET controversy intensified both on the streets and in Parliament. Thousands of students continued their protest at Jantar Mantar, while Opposition parties stepped up their attack on the Centre inside and outside Parliament over the alleged examination irregularities.

Opposition leaders also staged a sit-in near the Prime Minister’s residence, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading to heightened security and protests in the area on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the students’ agitation in New Delhi demanding action over the alleged NEET paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan entered its 32nd day, with protesters reiterating their demand for accountability.

Amid the political developments, Nadda and Jitendra Singh met Wangchuk, who was admitted to Medanta Hospital following directions issued by the Delhi High Court, and enquired about his condition.
