Dubai: Pakistan endured a disastrous outing against India in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, collapsing to their lowest-ever T20 International total before India completed a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 runs. India chased down the target in 8.4 overs, reaching 56 for three and sealing the win with 68 balls to spare.
Pakistan started positively, with Muniba Ali and Shawal Zulfiqar adding 27 runs without loss. However, India’s spin attack soon dismantled the batting line-up. Sri Charani, Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shafali Verma struck regularly as Pakistan lost their remaining nine wickets for just 28 runs.
Pakistan’s unwanted records pile up
Pakistan’s 55 is their lowest-ever total in T20 International cricket, eclipsing their previous low of 56 against New Zealand in 2024. It was also their lowest score against India in the format.
Nine Pakistan batters were dismissed for single-digit scores, including three ducks. The collapse was particularly severe as Pakistan went from 27 without loss to losing six wickets for just eight runs.
India made a flying start to the chase, with Shafali Verma hitting a six off the first ball. Pakistan removed Shafali, Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana, but could not build further pressure.
Harmanpreet Kaur (18) and Deepti Sharma (12) guided India to victory in 8.4 overs.
The result marked India’s third consecutive league-stage win, sending the team into the semi-finals unbeaten.
