Yash, Rishab Shetty, Rakshit Shetty among Sandalwood stars set to add glamour to Mysuru Dasara
MYSURU: The upcoming Mysuru Dasara 2026 is set to get a major dose of Sandalwood glamour, with around 30 prominent Kannada film actors and actresses expected to be invited to participate in the iconic Jamboo Savari procession.
The celebrities are likely to travel in an open-top vehicle from Amba Vilas Palace to KR Circle, adding a star attraction to the annual procession. The Dasara committee is expected to extend special invitations to leading personalities from the Kannada film industry.
Among the prominent actors being considered are Yash, Shivarajkumar, Rishab Shetty, Rakshit Shetty, Kiccha Sudeep and Ravichandran. Whether all the invited stars will attend the procession, however, will be known later.
Popular actresses including Umashree, Rachita Ram, Rukmini Vasanth and Sapthami Gowda are also expected to be part of the celebrations.
Special tableau on Kannada cinema
Adding to the attraction will be a special tableau showcasing the 93-year journey of Kannada cinema. The tableau will trace the industry’s evolution from the black-and-white era to today’s multiplex and pan-India phase.
A separate tribute tableau is also planned in memory of some of Kannada cinema’s most celebrated personalities, including Dr Rajkumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh and Puneeth Rajkumar.
The inclusion of leading Sandalwood personalities and cinema-themed tableaux is expected to give this year’s Jamboo Savari an added festive and cultural appeal.
