23 Parties Write to CJI Over Election Commission’s SIR Process
New Delhi: Twenty-three political parties and one Independent MP have jointly written to the Chief Justice of India raising concerns over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and other election-related issues.
Congress MP Jairam Ramesh shared the information on social media platform X, stating that the decision was taken during a meeting of the Bharat Jana Bandhan alliance held on June 8, 2026. Representatives of 21 political parties and one Independent member attended the meeting and agreed to send a joint representation to the Chief Justice.

According to Ramesh, the letter highlights concerns regarding the Election Commission’s SIR exercise as well as broader electoral matters. He said the joint communication has now been signed by 23 political parties and one Independent MP and formally submitted to the Chief Justice of India.

Ramesh described the move as a collective effort by opposition parties to raise issues related to the electoral process. In his post, he said the opposition remains united in its commitment to solidarity and coordinated action on matters concerning elections and democratic institutions.
