SRH clinch thriller vs RR; Suryavanshi’s 103 goes in vain
Jaipur: Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled off a thrilling five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League clash, overshadowing a stunning century by young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Opting to bowl after winning the toss at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Hyderabad were set a daunting target after Rajasthan posted 228/6 in 20 overs.
Suryavanshi was the standout performer for Rajasthan, smashing a blistering 103 off just 37 balls, anchoring the innings with an aggressive display that put the home side in a commanding position.
However, Hyderabad’s batting line-up rose to the challenge in the chase. Half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan powered the visitors, who chased down the target in 18.3 overs, finishing at 229/5.
The result marked a strong comeback by Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose aggressive batting effort ensured that Suryavanshi’s remarkable knock ultimately went in vain.
