Delhi: Punjab Kings registered the highest successful run chase in Indian Premier League history, defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter on Saturday.

Batting first at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals posted a daunting 264/2, powered by a blistering unbeaten 152 by KL Rahul.

Chasing 265, Punjab got off to a flying start with an explosive opening stand between Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh, who added 126 runs in just 6.5 overs, laying the foundation for the record chase.

Captain Shreyas Iyer then anchored the innings with a composed knock, guiding the team to victory with seven balls to spare.

The win keeps Punjab Kings unbeaten in the tournament so far, with six wins from seven matches, while one game was abandoned due to rain. They now sit at the top of the points table with 13 points, emerging as strong contenders in IPL 2026.
