Caracas: The death toll from the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 has climbed to 4,333, as rescue and relief operations continue across the affected regions.

According to official figures, 16,740 people have been injured, while 6,462 survivors have been rescued. Authorities have established 94 temporary relief camps, currently providing shelter to more than 18,000 displaced people.

Nearly 30,000 volunteers have been deployed for rescue, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts. The government plans to involve them in rebuilding and repairing homes damaged by the disaster.

National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez announced the launch of a Unified Housing Registry for families who lost their homes in the earthquakes. The database will be used to conduct surveys, assess damage and facilitate the distribution of financial assistance and rehabilitation support.

The government said relief operations are continuing on a war footing as authorities work to restore normalcy and assist thousands of affected families.
