IAF Sarang team reaches Egypt for El Alamein International Airshow
New Delhi: The Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team has arrived in Egypt to participate in the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled from September 8 to 10 at El Alamein International Airport.
The participation marks another significant international engagement for the IAF and is expected to highlight the growing defence and diplomatic ties between India and Egypt.
The Sarang team, described as the world’s only five-helicopter display team, will showcase precision formation flying, close-proximity manoeuvres and synchronised aerial sequences during the event.
The team operates the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, showcasing both the skills of IAF pilots and the capabilities of India’s domestic aerospace industry.

Among the highlights will be Sarang’s signature “Dolphin Leap” manoeuvre. The team will also introduce a new aerial sequence, the “Spot Stall Turn”, during its performances.
The displays are expected to give aviation enthusiasts from across the world an opportunity to witness the agility and versatility of the ALH Dhruv, while showcasing the professionalism and discipline of IAF personnel.
The El Alamein International Airshow brings together air forces and leading professionals from the global aerospace, defence and space sectors.
The Sarang team’s participation is expected to add an Indian dimension to the event while providing an opportunity for greater interaction with international aviation and display teams.
The IAF’s presence in Egyptian skies also underlines the expanding defence engagement between India and Egypt and New Delhi’s efforts to deepen military-to-military cooperation with partner countries.
