New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives in a boat capsizing incident in Bihar’s Vaishali district and announced financial assistance for the victims and their families.
In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office on X, Modi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
He said the local administration was assisting those affected by the tragedy.
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each person who lost their life. Those injured in the incident will receive ₹50,000 each.
“The loss of lives in the boat capsizing incident in Vaishali, Bihar, is deeply painful,” the Prime Minister said, extending his thoughts to the affected families during this difficult time.
The announcement comes as the local administration continues to assist those affected by the incident.
