New Delhi: Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on the sidelines of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum and congratulated him on completing 25 years in public service.
In a post on X, Sunak commended Modi’s commitment, work ethic and energy. He also highlighted the strengthening relationship between India and the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of trade, technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
Responding to Sunak’s post, Modi said the meeting was a pleasure.
“Was wonderful meeting you at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum today!” the Prime Minister wrote on X.
The meeting comes amid efforts to strengthen cooperation between India and the UK across key sectors, including trade and emerging technologies.
