Bengaluru Hebbal Police Bust Major MDMA Network; ₹34 Crore Worth of Drugs Seized, Four Arrested
Bengaluru: In a major crackdown on the city’s narcotics network, Bengaluru Police have seized 17.282 kg of MDMA worth an estimated ₹34 crore and arrested four accused, further expanding an investigation that had already led to multiple arrests in the case.
The case was originally registered at Hebbal Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on May 11, 2026. In the initial phase of the investigation, police had arrested eight accused, including three foreign nationals, and seized 17.400 kg of MDMA valued at around ₹35 crore.

The investigation was subsequently continued under the guidance of B.S. Nemagouda, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Division). Special teams were formed to trace the absconding accused.
Acting on intelligence inputs and technical evidence, police arrested three accused near Chikkabanavara Lake on July 8 and recovered 6.589 kg of MDMA from their possession.

Based on information provided by the arrested accused, another operation was carried out on the same day in Prakash Mohalla, Delhi, where a Nigerian national was arrested. Police recovered 3.400 kg of MDMA from him.
On July 9, police searched a house in Abbigere, Bengaluru, and seized an additional 7.293 kg of MDMA. With these recoveries, the total seizure in the latest phase of the investigation stood at 17.282 kg of MDMA, along with 13 mobile phones and a two-wheeler.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of B.S. Nemagouda, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Division), and under the leadership of Tanneer K.S., Assistant Commissioner of Police, J.C. Nagar Sub-Division.
The investigating team comprised Hebbal Police Inspector Bhaira; Police Sub-Inspectors Vinod Jiragale, Kiran M.M., and Mailari Sunagar; Assistant Sub-Inspectors Gajendra N.A. and Jagadish; Head Constables Rathod, Abdul Rehman, Jyothibai, and Sunanda; and police personnel Mallappa K., Shreeshaila Basagi, Amaresh, Parashuram, and Basavaraj Patil, who successfully cracked the case. Police said further investigation is underway to identify other members of the drug syndicate and trace its wider network.
