BJP Alleges Irregularities in Voter List Revision, Targets Congress Over SIR Process
Bengaluru: The BJP and JD(S) have alleged irregularities in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka. The BJP said Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, while a party delegation has also submitted a separate memorandum seeking action.
In a post on X, the BJP alleged that the voter list revision, which should be conducted through door-to-door verification as per Election Commission guidelines, is instead being carried out at mosques in some places.
“The voter list revision process should be completely transparent and should not become a tool for political interests. The Election Commission must take appropriate action against those violating the prescribed procedure,” the party said.

The BJP also accused the Congress government of encouraging illegal immigrants and infiltrators, alleging that such actions undermine the democratic process.
Claiming that the public has recognised these alleged attempts, the party said people have “taught the Congress a lesson for protecting illegal immigrants and infiltrators” and asserted that the issue is being taken seriously by voters across the state.
